這是我第一次看到大雪
也是第一次在零下6度的國家生活
真的是好冷喔~
今年的加拿大聽說會比以往更冷 (天阿~我不要啦!)
而且今年的冬天來的比較早
11月底這邊其實就開始有點降小雪了
到了12月
每天都是零下5度.6度.7度…..
不管有沒有太陽…天氣就是冷到爆
戴著帽子.圍巾.厚外套.毛襪.雪靴.手套在外面走個10分鐘
都讓我冷到受不了
其中最冷的莫過於手跟臉了
雖然戴著手套…手還是冷到快失去知覺
臉因為無法包起來..所以鼻子都凍僵了
有時候走在路上看到那種沒有戴帽子.圍巾.手套的人
都覺得很神奇…我們真的是生活在同一個地方嗎???
現在的街上
到處都是小雪山
比較偏僻的地方..地上根本都是雪冰
車子開過還會打滑
實在是有點恐怖
另外我只能說
本來很想要住house的我
現在打退堂鼓了
因為連家裡前面的雪都要自己鏟
這也太慘了吧
冷的要死的天氣..還要在那邊鏟雪
開始相信為什麼有人會在冬天得到憂鬱症
冷成這樣…根本都不想出門了啦!!
可憐的Ivy, 其實這樣的天氣真的還好耶 😛
在waterloo度過無數個冬天的我.. 真的要起碼到零下十度以下才算真的冷啦 (而且通常零下十度以下加上風大概是零下二十吧 XD)
反正頭記得要包好啦, 耳朵暖的話會好很多喔!
對了跟你說, 臉的話我建議用圍巾. 一般圍巾打法都只是打漂亮用的, 真的冷的時候我會找比較寬的那種圍巾(細細的那種很沒用)
套在脖子上, 一邊弄短, 然後用長的繞兩圈. 記得不要折起來喔..重點是兩圈後, 那"第二層"你可以拉高擋住半個臉. 這樣看起來又不會很怪(有些人會有那種套臉的帽子..orz) 又很保暖. 不了解我意思的話我下次示範給你看

還剛洗頭,連吹都沒吹乾

這也是我在加拿大第一個完整的冬天
上個禮拜大吹冷風，零下十度時，
實在是好想快點買張機票回台灣去避寒
沒想到，身邊的人居然都跟我說
拜託~這根本就只是開始~~還沒真的冷到咧
害我一整個傻眼
我想，我們只能繼續加油撐下去吧~~
大家都跟我說，等住了五年後，就會覺得沒什麼了~~哈哈~~希望那天快快來臨!

我們剛好季節顛倒
不過南半球的太陽很恐怖倒是真的
我之前去雪梨…就被曬到皮膚都發紅…
So, you have experienced some of the bitter cold but this is only the beginning of winter. Where you are in London, Waterloo and Kitchener areas is called "snow belt". That’s why you need to check out all the protection gears and dress warm for the winter snow. You can get frost bite on your ears, nose and cheeks pretty fast, sometimes within ten or fifteen minutes. A "down feather parka" with a hood is the best winter coat for newcomers. My husband laughed at me when he first saw my two luggage-full of pretty winter coats and clothes that I brought with me from Taiwan. He told me they would not be practical for the winter here. At first, I did not believe him when he described to me how cold the winter would be. My mother-in-law ended up taking me shopping for my first winter coat and boots. I thought to myself how ugly they were. Well, those two luggage-load of pretty Taiwanese winter clothes were proved to be impractical after all. The ugly down feather coat and the heavy-duty winter boots helped me survive my first winter here. I think the hat that Jenny mentioned is called "balaclava", which can cover most of your head and face, except your eyes. If you don’t want to look like a "robber", you can find a fancy looking one at any department stores. Sometimes, a pretty looking one may not be as effective as a plain one to prevent the bitter cold though, and the same rule applies to the snow boots. You will get used to the cold eventually in a few years because I did. Honestly, sometimes I can just go out in my T-shirt with a warm heavy winter coat on.

其實在加拿大最大的好處就是不管你怎麼穿
都沒有人會覺得奇怪吧..
那溫哥華還不算什麼,頂多零下三度.
我出門穿兩件,一件室內有暖氣時穿的,一件外套,只要沒有風就不會冷.
我跟你一樣,手套是[保冰]用的,不能保暖哪.我有暖暖包,日本買來的,就用那個取暖囉.

只要零度以上我就要偷笑了~
這幾天有稍微回暖一點,
氣候變得很舒服呢!
路上也沒有積雪,我最喜歡這樣子的冬天~

我在美國中西部的Kansas~ 這幾天 ice storm席捲我居住的城市 冷就不說了~~
還分區停電哩~這禮拜是期末考週 昨天連學校都停電囉 已經有堂課停考囉~ 這應該是ice storm給我們的唯一好處吧~~

I actually don’t think this year is that cold, the weather used to be minus 30C. And usually it’s warmer when it’s snowing. BUT I’ve been in Canada for more than 14 years, so that’s probably why, I’m getting very used to it. I can wear scanty party dress under my winter jacket. XD
羽絨 parka, check out brands like Columbia, North Face, Firefly in the sport stores. Or 3-in-1 ski jackets are just as warm as down feather. Best bet is to wear a base layer (ie. T-shirt, turtleneck), a mid layer (ie. vest, or fleece hoodies), then your winter jacket. When you get to the indoor, you can take your outer layers off.
